Gordon understands that for most of us, purchasing a home or investment property may be the most important financial decision we make. He believes that your home is not only the place where you will live, but also the first step on your journey towards creating wealth. His clients rely on his knowledge of finance, as well as his experience as a lender and real estate investor, to focus their search so they find a property that meets their criteria for a new home and fits within their financial goals.
Gordon’s first home was a three-unit tenancy in common (TIC) in San Francisco he purchased with two friends in 1999. After living in his unit for a few years, he and his TIC partners converted the building to condominiums. His experience as an early TIC owner led Gordon to launch a career in real estate lending with a focus on TIC’s. He is now a widely recognized TIC expert, the go-to guy his clients and real estate professionals rely on for accurate information on TIC financing and ownership
Although known as a TIC specialist, Gordon’s expertise goes far beyond this uniquely San Francisco form of ownership. Over the past 20 years, he has helped hundreds of clients secure financing for all types of properties, both residential and commercial. The knowledge he gained as a lender gives him a unique perspective and edge most other agents don’t have. He understands the complete process of purchasing a home from mortgage pre-approval, through searching for the right property and then making sure your purchase closes smoothly and on time. Through it all, he expertly guides and educates his clients. Gordon knows the market and will never steer you toward the wrong home or investment.
Gordon’s clients also benefit from his experience as a real estate developer. He has successfully acquired, renovated, and sold several multi-unit properties in San Francisco as TIC’s. His experience in development is invaluable to clients searching for the right properties to acquire and then reposition for sale or income. His background is especially helpful to investors searching for multi-unit properties to re-develop as TICs.
Gordon holds both a BA and MBA in Finance from George Washington University. After finishing his MBA, he moved to San Francisco to begin working as an institutional investment consultant. He then worked in e-commerce operations during the early 2000s, followed by a position in operations at a mountain bike manufacturer in both Marin County and Taiwan, before his experience as a TIC owner led to a career in real estate.
Gordon has called the Bay Area home since 1989. He spent the first 15 years in San Francisco and then moved to Marin County where he now lives with his wife and teenage son. When not working for you, you’ll find him with his family on the slopes in Tahoe, hiking or riding on the endless network of trails in Marin County, or at the beach watching his son surf.
