To be in the top 1% of your profession doesn’t come easy; it takes an incredible amount of ground work, persistence, energy, commitment and most of all love. Nan Allen has all of these attributes. At first meeting, you notice the elegant presence, the warm smile, the directness of speech and gaze, and you finally realize that this woman knows who she is and what makes her happy, and how to get it.

Coming from a scientific background in microbiology, she took a circuitous route to her chosen career. Leaving Connecticut at 23 to come to California, she settled in Berkeley and worked for Lawrence Labs, then on to San Francisco where she worked in cancer research at U.C. Medical Center. Nan met her husband Jim, moved to Marin and settled down to married life and raising two sons. Nowadays, Nan loves to teach and exercises with the deep water aerobics group “Water Gym” to stay fit and enjoy a full and energetic life.

From the minute you meet Nan Allen you become her primary concern. “I really take care of my people, I think of them and their needs every day." She states, "I am very focused on listening to what my clients want in their lives, and their dream. I do everything possible to make that happen for them. I don’t give up.”

Nan is so highly thought of by her peers that she was asked to be a charter member of the Luxury Home Agents and the Marin All Stars. The Luxury Home Agents are a group of sixteen highly competitive women from competing firms who came together in a unique spirit of cooperation for the purpose of selling luxury homes. Her peers and clients aren’t the only ones who need her. Nan is sought out by the media as a source for the latest market trends and information. As a charter member of “The Marin All Stars,” which is a group of real estate brokers representing the leading real estate companies in Marin County, Nan is at the forefront of Marin’s best agents. With combined sales volumes exceeding $200 Million per year, this alliance of leading agents has come together since 1992 to learn from one another and thereby remain on the cutting edge of real estate practices, communications, trends, marketing and technology.
