Rachael’s journey into real estate and hospitality began in Alameda, where she was born and raised with an appreciation for service, community, and the character of Bay Area neighborhoods. She went on to attend the University of California, Berkeley, earning a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a minor in Finance in 2004.

Her career began in the fast-paced mortgage industry during San Francisco’s startup boom, providing an early foundation in finance, client service, and market dynamics. She later worked as a Production Manager for a lifestyle and hospitality brand, further developing her ability to manage complex projects while keeping the client experience front and center.

Having lived and worked in Los Angeles, Atlanta, and San Francisco before returning to her Bay Area roots, Rachael brings a broad perspective to real estate. Her experience as a rental property owner and hands-on home renovator has also given her an intimate understanding of the financial—and emotional—realities of property ownership. She understands how to evaluate a home not simply for what it is today, but for what it has the potential to become.

Josh was born in Texas and raised in the East Bay, where his passion for food, hospitality, and craftsmanship took root in Rockridge and Berkeley. After graduating from Berkeley High School, he pursued dual degrees in Culinary Arts and Hospitality Management at Diablo Valley College.

His career ultimately took him around the world, where he served as an Executive Chef in five-star hotel restaurants throughout Thailand, India, Australia, and Japan, working alongside Michelin-starred chefs and leading high-performing culinary teams in some of the world’s most demanding hospitality environments. Those experiences not only refined his culinary expertise, but also strengthened his ability to manage large teams, oversee complex budgets and operations, execute demanding projects, and consistently deliver at exceptionally high standards.

In 2010, Josh fulfilled his longtime dream by opening his own award-winning restaurant in Berkeley, combining creativity with the practical realities of entrepreneurship. He later transitioned into catering and, most recently, operated a successful health-focused restaurant.

Along the way, Josh developed another invaluable skill set: construction and project management. He personally designed multiple commercial kitchens, navigating complicated building and code requirements while performing much of the work himself. After marrying Rachael, those talents naturally made their way home, where the two began remodeling and transforming their own properties together—combining Josh’s hands-on construction knowledge with Rachael’s eye for design.

In 2026, Rachael and Josh are celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary, a decade that has included businesses, renovations, travel, real estate, and more than a few ambitious home projects.

In 2023, Rachael and Josh officially combined their talents and launched their real estate partnership. Together, they offer clients an unusual combination of real estate strategy, financial knowledge, design expertise, construction insight, project management, and hospitality.

Rachael brings more than 15 years of real estate experience and a proven ability to help clients identify opportunities to increase property value through thoughtful improvements and strategic investment. Over the years, she has also developed a carefully vetted network of trusted licensed contractors, plumbers, electricians, roofers, cleaners, gardeners, and other home professionals—resources she continues to share with clients long after a transaction closes.

Josh brings a different but highly complementary perspective. His construction knowledge and project oversight experience allow him to look beyond finishes and evaluate what a property may actually need, what improvements could entail, and where potential opportunities—or challenges—may be hiding.

For buyers, that additional perspective can be invaluable when evaluating a property with renovation potential. For sellers, Rachael and Josh can help identify which improvements may be worth making before going to market and where money may be better left unspent.

Their hospitality backgrounds influence their business just as much as their real estate experience. Both understand that exceptional service is not simply about completing the immediate task; it is about anticipating what someone may need next and being there when they do.

After ten years of marriage, countless projects, several businesses, and more renovations than they can probably count, Rachael and Josh have learned that a home is never simply a piece of real estate.
