Originally from Durham City in the UK, I’ve been a Real Estate Agent in San Francisco for over 21 years. My career began with Grubb & Ellis, where I spent 5 years doing commercial leasing and investment sales. After one year in the business, I was named “Rookie of the Year.” I moved into residential with Vanguard Properties in 2003. Since joining Vanguard I have represented literally hundreds of buyers and sellers, brokered over $800 million in transactions and am a consistent Top Producer with an excellent reputation.

I have a First Class BS Honors degree in Real Estate from Newcastle University in the UK. My formal education and diverse cultural background enable me to understand many kinds of property and personalities.

I am extremely direct and honest with my clients. Like it or not, I will tell you the reality of the situation. I am calm, confident and streetwise. I know how to negotiate from either side of the fence and am good at understanding different points of view. I have a dynamic personality and a proven track record. I know how to win a multiple-bid scenario and work all of the angles.

  • I work with Sellers AND Buyers and feel this balance is important to maintain a current understanding of shifts and trends in the marketplace.

  • I understand many property types, Single Family Homes, Condos & TICs, 2-4 Unit buildings.

  • I handle the sale and purchase of multi-unit apartment buildings, either as rental investments or add-value/TIC plays for developers and investors.

  • I am a TIC specialist. In addition to handling many complex TIC transactions, I have owned and personally converted TICs into Condominiums.

  • I work with developers from land acquisition, through the planning/entitlement process, Department of Real Estate (DRE) paperwork and formation of Covenants, Conditions and Restrictions (CC&R’s). I can advise on floor plan design and finish choices, alongside value of new product - luxury new condominium and new home sales.

I live in The Mission and ADORE the eclectic mix of residents, businesses, artists and retail that this neighborhood has to offer. I have also lived in SOMA, Pacific Heights, The Castro, Hayes Valley and Noe Valley and can honestly say that I have intimate knowledge of many San Francisco neighborhoods. I love nothing more than sharing my ‘Top 10’ recommendations.

My personal passion is home design and interiors. I am an investor and have renovated several properties of my own. I have a strong network of professional vendors and can help to redesign and stage your home before it goes to market.

My passion for aesthetics translates into savvy marketing and innovative uses of new media. At Vanguard we arguably have the best marketing collateral any San Francisco firm can offer.

When I’m not working I like to spend time at my weekend home in Sebastopol. I firmly believe in Sonoma County as an excellent location to invest long term and own a second home, vacation rental or long-term rental investment property - so ask me more about this!
